Connect LinkedIn to Deskflow
Deskflow needs a LinkedIn connection to send connection requests and messages and to sync your inbox. This guide explains how to connect LinkedIn and what to do if it stops working.
How to connect (Chrome extension)
- Install the Deskflow extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Open Deskflow in a Chrome tab (e.g. app.deskflow.io) and log in.
- Open LinkedIn in another tab and make sure you’re logged in.
- Click the Deskflow extension icon in the toolbar.
- In the popup, click Capture Session (or Connect).
- The extension reads your LinkedIn session (cookie) and sends it to Deskflow so your account is linked.
- Go to Integrations in Deskflow. LinkedIn should show as Connected.
What the extension does
- Reads your LinkedIn session – Only when you click “Capture Session.” It does not read your browsing history or other sites.
- Sends the session to Deskflow – Over HTTPS, so Deskflow can send connection requests and messages on your behalf and sync your inbox.
- Recapture – If you log out of LinkedIn or the connection breaks, open the extension again and click Recapture Session (or Capture Session) to reconnect.
If LinkedIn shows as disconnected
- Recapture – Open the extension, click Recapture Session, then check Integrations again.
- Re-login to LinkedIn – In a tab, log out of LinkedIn and log back in, then recapture in the extension.
- Extension updated – Make sure the Deskflow extension is up to date from the Chrome Web Store.
- Support – If it still fails, contact support with your account email and what you see (e.g. “Capture Session” error message).
OAuth (if your team uses it)
Some setups use OAuth instead of the extension. In that case:
- Go to Integrations in Deskflow.
- Click Connect (or Connect LinkedIn).
- Complete the LinkedIn login and permissions in the browser.
- You’ll be redirected back to Deskflow; LinkedIn should show as Connected.
If you don’t see an OAuth option, your org is likely using the extension flow only.
Privacy and data
- Deskflow uses your LinkedIn connection only to send and sync messages and connection requests for your account.
- What data is collected and how it’s used is described in the Privacy Policy and in the Chrome Web Store listing.
